We're Pregnant!

From Shar's Facebook:

Just had first ultrasound. Everything looks great! And it is NOT twins! Baby due Aug 25.

which brought forth 37 comments and six people (myself included) who professed to "Like" the announcement.

From my Facebook announcement:

Just back from the OB and we have a happy, healthy little, blob for right now, but it has fingers and toes and was getting it's bogey on!

Which engendered a comparatively paltry 9 comments and another 6 "Likes"

Such is the state of the modern announcement of impending childbirth. Of course we had quietly leaked this information previous to the official public offering yesterday, a sort of "soft launch" in the current marketing parlance. It all seems so strange, the protocols that surround these events in life. Were they devised to provide comfort? and for whom?

Anyway I am so excited (and have been since I found out many weeks ago) that I can scarcely contain myself. I aspire to becoming quite a bore with my incessant ramblings regarding our impending childbirth.

Viva la Familia!

We're Hitched!

We did it!

Having all of our friends and family there is what made it a even more special for Sharlene and I.

The honeymoon was fantastic and now we are back at home continuing on the wonderful journey we have started together.

Thanks again to everyone!

Registries

I have been getting a lot of question about what we need and where we are registered. Since we both are coming into this marriage with lots of kitchen gadgets and home equipment, a traditional registry was not so easy.
We decided to register our honeymoon on http://www.thebigday.com
On that site you can search for our registry under our last names. I am the only Toney on there, so that makes it very easy to find. We listed travel arrangements and experiences from our honeymoon that you can sponsor. This makes it easy and convenient to shop online with your credit card for any gift you choose to give.
We are also registered at Bed, Bath, & Beyond for those who really enjoy getting to wrap gifts. Of course, with Dan and I both enjoying entertaining, we found some fun additions to our kitchen collections.
Please let us know if you have any questions.

The Big Day

As the big day approaches we are constantly thinking of new things to make you aware of. Please remember that the ceremony site is an outdoor chapel. The benches you will be sitting on are wooden pews that are in the woods. Take this into account when you get dressed. There is no need to dress up for ceremony or reception in clothing that you would not be comfortable getting a little dirty. Nature is not super clean.
Children are more than welcome at our wedding. It is a day to celebrate family and our children are a huge part of our families.

First of all...

It turns out those "My Precious Wedding Day" websites that various wedding related vendors sponsor are a not so easy to use. So here we are doing our own thing. Our own way. I don't know how that could surprise anyone who knows us.

This site will be your source for all things wedding related.
